As of the 30 August 2024 the new medium density residential standard are live within the Waipa District! These changes, known as Plan Change 26, allow at least two dwellings on each title in the Medium Density Residential Zones of Cambridge, Te Awamutu and Kihikihi. Provided compliant dwelling designs are provided, there are no minimum lot areas applicable for subdivision.  This means that many properties that would not have otherwise been able to develop are now able to.
